2nd and 6th Grade Video Project - 2011 Description: Through interviews and products collected from 2nd grade projects, you will create a video 3-5 minutes in length. As the producer, you can use whatever means necessary to produce an effective video. The video will pertain to your student’s favorite literary book or character. One important note is that you must connect the 2nd grader to their literary character / book and bring it to life for them. 2nd Grade Requirements: TBD 6th Grade Requirements: 1) Must be 3-5 minute long 2) Must have a 2nd grade student pod cast reading a letter they created (We will arrange one class period for you and your second grader to do this.) 3) Must have music (think about 2nd graders favorite song, your favorite song, a song that describes their character, a song that describes their book, etc.) 4) Must explain the following literary elements: a.) Why you / your partner chose the book? b.) Connect two traits from book or character to your 2nd grader (Ex. Clifford is loyal just like ___) c.) Connect one theme to the book about your character 5) Creativity is a necessity, not an option 6) 6th Graders will finish with three DVD’s of their work (one for Mr. Jaeger and Mr. Zastrow, one for 2nd grader, one for themselves) 7) All projects will be posted to: http://sbread26videoproject.wikispaces.com/

That way you will have an idea of what you are looking for! c) Think about including scanned photos of student generated art. d) Using captions and graphics to relay short quick points of information
